Mosaic Market invites the Chiang Mai community to a powerful art event on Friday August 1. American artist and art therapist Kit Ripley will present her solo exhibition titled DEFRAG, a moving collection of work that explores healing through creative expression.

Kit Ripley has lived and worked in Thailand for more than twenty years. She serves with the New Life Center Foundation, where she supports young ethnic minority women who have experienced trauma and exploitation. Her artistic practice reflects this deep work. Each piece speaks to recovery and resilience, drawing from nature and personal transformation.
Her art uses diverse techniques including painting, printmaking, photography, and textile work. The result is a visual language that resonates with emotion and strength. Visitors can expect to see vivid textures, natural forms, and layered symbolism throughout the exhibition.
The title DEFRAG suggests a process of piecing things back together. Just like in computer systems where files are reorganized for clarity and function, Ripley’s work arranges color and form to reflect the ongoing journey of healing. It is about reassembly, reconnection, and visual storytelling.
This event is more than a gallery show. It is an open evening of art, conversation, and community. Guests will have a chance to meet the artist and hear about the stories and techniques behind the work.
